With the summer finally upon us, the website development side of our work at BIG normally slows down a little at this time of year, with business owners and their staff away on their holidays…but not this year it seems. Content writing for blogs and social media, search engine optimisation and other online marketing work usually keeps us busy enough in the summer months, but with the usual slowdown in new website development projects nowhere in sight, right now we’ve found ourselves working late to hit deadlines, something we are always happy to do when needed, but which isn’t usually necessary in the months of July and August.

One highlight of June was the addition to our client list of leading UK pond plant specialists Devon Pond Plants who are based near Kingsbridge, with us being tasked in helping them with a range of technical issues relating to their existing e-commerce website (WordPress/WooCommerce). Now an established and valued client, our work with them is on-going with respect to the search engine optimisation of their website and also their social media activity. Our initial meeting with the client, sat by one of their beautiful ponds in the Devon countryside, must surely be one of the nicest spots we’ve ever discussed websites and online marketing with a client. July saw us launch a custom coded website for exclusive properties specialists Croft Residential in York, which included the ability for staff to upload properties directly onto the Rightmove and the On The Market property portals via a live XML feed from their own website content management system.

Our work as technical partners for other marketing agencies is also flourishing this summer too, and recently we have begun working with another highly professional marketing agency based in Devon, also another great agency in Leeds too. Through them we are involved in a variety of really interesting projects just now, including our first website in the superyacht sector, and another for a prestigious overseas hotel will also be underway in August. We are always on the lookout for other marketing, public relations, graphic design or web design agencies to work with, if indeed they feel we can help expand their technical capability or provide them with extra capacity.

Finally to all our clients and partners, we hope you’re all having a successful summer too, but perhaps not quite as busy as the one we are having just now, so you can at least enjoy some of this fine weather.
